DD is ill - is a 60 degree wash good enough to kill germs?

DD very poorly, and despite best efforts with bowls and towels I still keep needing to wash her sheets and PJ's etc - will a 60 deg wash be enough to kill the germs? My machine does do a 95 deg wash but that seems a bit exessive! Thanks...

I only ever do a 40 deg and my children seem to have survived!!

Yes (from everything I've read), 60 will do the job.

Hanging it out in the sunshine if you are able is a fab way to kill germs.
Poor you and your dd. I hope she feels better soon.

Thank you! Sunshine not an option as my rotary drier is broken so it's a tumble dry on hot - not as environmentally friendly perhaps! Just hoping DD2 does not succumb - I am supposed to be away on a long planned spa weekend with my university chums this weekend so fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!!

who cares if its environmentally friendly. When tummy bugs survive its all about survival!
Really hope you get to go on the spa weekend. It sounds lovely and you will have deserved it.
