right, am trying to green up again, was being v good getting ecover refills for all our cleaning at local chemist, but the washing up liquid wrecks my hands and you have to use loads, my bf is not wild about the laundry liquid, and the hand wash is plain painful. any advice on good eco-friendly washing up liquid etc? wondering about bio-d or method. want to buy a giant bottle bottle so less plastic waste.

any other good eco cleaners you buy in bulk? guess i should be just buying a massive tub of borax or something?

thinking of doing the same for shower gel and handwash (buying giant bottles online) - i know i should just use soap but i can't face the scrubbing off the bath it entails and there isn't room for it by our basin.

thanks!

I use Tesco's plant based version. Probably not quite as green as Ecover but cleans SO much better. You don't have to use half the bottle just to get a bubble.

There's also some lovely handmade stuff for the bathroom from Earthbound Organics at www.earthbound.co.uk

As for laundry stuff, I hate to admit it but nothing cleans like Ariel does. I used to use Ecover which is rubbish, then Down to Earth (only slightly better) and now use Tesco's plant based one (again) for the kids clothes as DS 1 has eczema.

thank you forevared. i've just ordered some bio-d (you can get ginormous bottles), if that fails it's tesco for me!

THe method range is really good - eco friendly

I've just switched to Ecoballs - saving tons of money and really plesed with the results. If I want a scent in my washing, I just use some essential oils.

My washing machine doesn't stink anymore, either.

As for the washing liquid - I've always liked Ecover. I use Green People handwash, or buy others from the local health food shop.

I've also made the switch to ecloths in the kitchen, they're really good too. Not convinced re the bathroom version though. I do feel the need for bleach there !!
