Moldy Z beds - WWYD

I'm wondering whether I am right or DH is right on this one.

We have a box room without central heating. We were storing 2 Z-beds against a wall in there.

I noticed what I thought was fluff on the outside of the Z-beds. I then realised that actually they had mold spores on them, and that behind them on the wall was a small patch of white and rust coloured mold and also some white mold spores behind it on the wall.

DH thinks the Z beds should be OK if we just give them a good clean. My feeling is that we should chuck them out because the spores may have got inside the mattress and I'm not sure they are hygeinic to use.

I know I can be quite neurotic - but then he can be a bit gung-ho about things, so just wondered what wise women (or chaps) of Mumsnet would do?

If you reckon they'd be OK with a bit of a clean, what would you do to clean them?

Thanks

I wuld chuck them. Sorrry.

Mould will be growing throughout the mattress.

Definitely chuck - mould is bad news!

Thanks

I think this too, but DH just not taking my concerns seriously. If anyone else agrees with chucking out, please put on thread too, then maybe I can show thread to DH to show it's not just me.

How can your DH argue with Mnetters who know it all!!

He just thinks I'm neurotic and over the top about everything (which much of the time I am to be fair ).

It means that he doesn't take any worry I have about anything particularly seriously. If he heard it from someone else he is more likely to listen
