can anyone recommend an indestructible table?

Our dining table was pretty knackered when we acquired it years ago, and now is really on its last legs...but we don't want to get something lovely that our nascent vandal (13 month old DD) will be able to destroy in a matter of minutes...

Would be to go in eat-in kitchen (white with black worksurface), but to be our main dining table. Must be able to extend.

Can anyone recommend anything fabulous and toddler-proof? Thanks

Not extendable, but our kitchen table has a stainless steel top, great for kids. And you can cover it up with a tablecloth when you want it to look less clinical...

Sounds like a good option, Grapefruit Moon; I've always worried about scratching with steel though - is it prone to this at all?

Yes it scratches easily but after you have recovered from the trauma of the first one you just go with it until it has lots which sort of looks ok - interiors magazines tend to say it develops a nice patina!
