button keeps coming off...what can i do?

its the button on dh s shorts, i've tried moving it out a bit (not that they are overly tight) but it just keeps popping off- how can i make it stay on?

Someone once told me to put clear nailvarnish on the back on the button whenever you buy new stuff, particularly primark stuff lol!! Never tried it, but should, i have so many clothes with buttons missing!

Is it still the same button? I had this with the metal button on my DD's jeans. The edges of the holes on the button were just too sharp. Changed it for a non-metal button and no further problems.
