mucky stains on waterproof jacket

it was an expensive jacket but has got covered in mucky paw prints and now i cant get them off. its pale grey and waterproof, i have already pretreated with vanish prewash spray and washed at 60 in machine, but theyre still there. what can i use to get rid?

Ok I hate to be the bearer of potentially bad news but if it was a technical waterproof jacket you may need to, once paw prints have been removed, retreat it with a decent waterproofing spray as lots of detergents can be detrimental to the waterproofing of the jacket. You will know if you need to treat if the jacket wets out (absorbs the water instead of repelling it into beads)

With my waterproofs I tend to use Nikwax Tech Wash and that removes most things

thank you for that, i hadnt even thought of the detergents doing damage to waterproofing.
