tempermental dishwasher

my dishwasher isnt cleanibng well, dirt just seems to stay on or get worse

tried one of those bottles which made it better for 2 washes but now we bak to square one

I had a similar problem made worse by living in a very hard water area. Plates smeary and greasy, water not getting hot, glasses all cloudy.so i chucked in a couple of Calgon/anti limescale tablets for washing machines
Worked like a dream and i just add an anti limescale tablet as and when needed with the load.
I asked on MN and around friends if anyone thought it would do the machine or us any harm, so far so good.
Give it a try its a dam site cheaper than those cleaning bottles.

Had the same problem recently.

I found that all the little holes in the two things that spin round (top and bottom) that spary the water had got parlty blocked. I took the two spinning things off and and gave the a really good washing through and cleaning and it worked a treat ever since.

Just as an aside - we changed tablets just before it happened and we thought that might have somethg to do with it. We think that maybe the new tablets loosened some lime scale that then got stuck in the holes and so the water did not spray properly.

Anyway - it works fine now.
