I'm in another bad mood today, don't know where it is coming from so it must be PMT! Just off in the shower now to try and wash it away.
Both children are tired and bad tempered this morning.

we were woken at 6.30 by very noisy cheery ds2. 7.00 just about, 6.30 in our house NO.
we went back to sleep sort of and banished him to his bedroom with strict instructions not to leave till 8.00. Various members of family followed him soon afterwards.
Porridge and boiled eggs made - new nightie is definitely helping me be more Mary Poppinslike.
or rather...everyone's watching Sat morning CITV. Dh is snatching wellearned sleep.
Off to ballet in a moment. or 30.
Sorry you are feeling cross Wendy. Still too zombiefied to be cross yet

galen · 07/03/2009 09:23

How do mad hope you're doing well

Wolf Take it steady. Best wishes for your relly

Galen How fantastically productive of you!

Hello Jas and Scatty and thoe who I've missed

Tried scaring Boris by pouring scotch on him last night. Still have an embarrasingly adolescent hangover from hell but Bozza has not got further than my right lower leg , Today I have

Got up
Made bed
Emptied DW
Put away
Breakfast
Paperwork
Loaded and run DW
Emptied WM and sorted for drying
taken down damp laundry
Load TD and run
Washed Ed and helped him dress
Gone back to bed, done online banking.

Bit smug cos I sorted out the insurance which kicked in this month, Our mortgage payment went down and as a result we are still within the OD limit so I've saved £ and prevented a £35 bank charge You watch me fall flat on my mush now .

I will get up and do some stuff with Ed this aft

swanriver · 07/03/2009 13:41

9.30 and you had already done the long border Galen!!!!

spent the morning ferrying kids round activities...then went to local market and picked up some very dogeared looking seasonal veg. which I'm not quite sure to do with...jerusalem artichoke soup perhaps.

lunch was pesto v. easy (not v seasonal)
kids playing in dogeared garden (so muddy) and pulling toys out of shed blowing up paddling pools hopefully.

Ds1 now to swimming party.

Sounds like everyone is being very supportive TMH, and the little ones too.
Nightie - just excuses for not doing paperwork. Wanted one a bit more business like and less diaphanous.

Wolfcub · 07/03/2009 14:02

someone calm me down before I friggin well murder dp!

It has taken him over an hour to make lunch for 3 (actually he hasn't finished yet) all three of us have eaten seperately, he has set the smoke alarm off 7 or 8 times which will be driving the neighbours nuts, the kitchen is a shit tip, he has not put foil in the grill pan which now looks like a bad bbq incident, the whole house and me and my nicely washed and straighetened hair ready for going out tonight stink of bacon smoke. How fecking incompetent can one man be, he can't even make scrambled eggs properly aaaaaaaargh

....and breathe. Sorry ladies just needed to get that off my chest before I escape to Lidl whilst he stays at home probably making more pissing mess

sorry you had a bad night mad try and take it easy today, same goes for you grouchy, if scotch works on boris you and I should share a bottle of good whisky one evening, we can drink him under the table!

scattyspice · 07/03/2009 15:10

Sympathies Wolf. What was he trying to make?

Hope you have a lovely night out (and the bacon smell wears off LOL).

Today
made a cardboard house
Muddy woody walk

To do
laundry
ironing

EHM · 07/03/2009 16:53

HELLO TO ALL TMH hope you have a better night.
Grouchy so being permantly pissed maybe the key
hope Boris stays put.

Sorry can't finish my post as madampeepeePeardrop is pulling at my leg insisting I don't ignore her!

winnie09 · 07/03/2009 17:06

Hi guys, I just want you all to know that I am hanging on in here

i feel on top of things

Wolfcub, hope your day gets better.
TMH, hope you have a better night.
swanriver, you sound like me in that i constantly endeavour to buy locally and seasonally. I especially try not to buy fruit and veg from supermarkets unless British or fairtrade BUT the local greengrocers is ropey, always looks dogeared and I there are actually only a few things which are labelled English (I live in the SW of England) and even less that is local

grouchyoscar & galen you sound especially well organised today

Hi everyone else I haven't mentioned. Have a lovely weekend

wendyredredrobin · 07/03/2009 18:03

Hi all I was uncrossed and serene until I came home then got all cross again with dc. I think I need A Day Off from children - haven't had more than a couple of hours off since before Christmas so think I'm due it! I just feel like my head is just full up to the brim of children. DS been horrid today. Have just snapped with him after keeping calm all day and sent him to bed with no bath and no story. He has gone straight to sleep .

Feeling very tired and have a book to read so I can tutor friend tomorrow. Perhaps a bath, PJs and read in bed tonight. I feel so exhausted! Mind you I haven't drunk my water today

Wolf sympathies, hope you manage to have a good night out (I've missed where you're going to)
Mad glad you sound chipper - hope you have a better night tonight
winnie great to see you!
EHM any luck with finding rented?
scatty hope muddy woody walk good - sounds great
swan agree re: seasonal veg - they don't make it easy to do the right thing, do they?

OP posts:
scattyspice · 07/03/2009 18:36

wendy. You are definately due a day to yourself! Don't worry about ds, they have to learn to respect the boundaries and if he went straight to sleep, he was probably pretty tired.

Best go, trouble brewing tsk!

swanriver · 07/03/2009 18:53

Back from swimming party which dd managed to wangle her way into as well...ds1 is not afraid of heights! He went down giant slide ten times.

Your day sounds excellent Scatty. Wendy, don't feel guilty he was probably desperate to go to bed. It sometimes feels like being on the wrong end of a grater doesn't it.
Winnie, glad the week went well.
Wolfcub, BUT he does cook that is GOOD. He probably doesn't realise he is being selfish to leave all the mess; he probably doesn't notice the mess and assumes he is being ultra helpful.
Grouchy hope you are having a good day and EHM with your little one.

There is mud all over the house, it is strewn with clothes and toys, and I think in daylight it will appear even worse tomorrow. But at least everyone has been out and about.

Wolfcub · 07/03/2009 19:26

evening all

ds has been hideous all day, whingey, willful, deliberately naughty, he has just gone to bed thank god, we are both at the end of our tethers, I just hope that he doens't wake up at 5am (he has every other day this week) and that this behaviour is just a hangover from him being poorly at the start of the week, I was just beginning to think that his behaviour (and probably more importantly my ability to deal with it) was improving dramatically.

wendy I can totally sympathise although to be honest I think you probably have it a damn sight harder than me who gets to escape to adult work company 5 days a week, not far away if you need to go for a child free cuppa and cake

done

went to lidl
read book
bit of tidying

friend cancelled night out when I was halfway through putting makeup on, I totally understand as I have done this in the past myself when I've not been feeling up to it but I am also a bit as I have been looking forward to this night out for about a month. We have promised to try again next friday but I'm not holding my breath. Gin here I come

ehm I will be in sunnigndale on the nights of the 15th to 17th, if you happen to be in the vicinity in the evenings it would be my pleasure to buy you a drink. I should be down your way again in the next couple of months or so so no worries if not, we will manage to meet at some point. Speaking of which ruby whereabouts on the map are you? (roughly speaking so you don't give away your secret identity, btw, it occurred to me this morning that you have the same first name as MIL so when I chuck my money in the charity tin it will be for more than one lady of that name)

mad I hope you get a decent night sleep

grouchy get some more scotch down you and limit boris's remit to your little toe!

wendyredredrobin · 07/03/2009 19:34

Poor you Wolf and would love to pop round for a cuppa sometime soon. will facebook you soon!
thanks swan and scatty. I am thinking of organising a child free afternoon one day next week if poss and get my hair cut (long overdue) too. And need to look for outfit for hen day!

OP posts:
swanriver · 07/03/2009 21:54

Wolf, we had a hideous time putting dd to bed, she had a mega tantrum and kept moving goalposts endlessly, want this want that, cant do this cant do that. So every sympathy for grappling with even smaller tired miscreants. Your comments about your ds really made me think Wendy. In the end I just put her to bed, put the light out (it was 8.00 her normal bedtime) and said no story after all you are obviously too tired, now sleep tight. She went straight to sleep, despite screaming for two mins about missing story, I want some cheerios etc etc.
I think they do get completely overtired without quite realising it. They don't even know what they want.
Sorry about your friend cancelling Wolf. My friends and I now organize all outings with 3 or more people as someone always always cancels at last moment because they can't face it, are too tired etc. Hope your Saturday night was restorative (for want of a better word) in spite of that.

galen · 08/03/2009 06:39

Morning all!
Another early start here!
wendy Time away from the children sounds like just what you need. I dont get much time away from mine, but do find I get very grumpy when I need a bit of a break and I have to get Dh to take them all out for a couple of hours.
wolf sorry your DS and DP were being difficult yesterday - hope theyre both on better form today!
gouchy glad the scotch seemed to help - sorry bout the hangover though!
swan yes I was digging abit early - had to size the window of opportunity whilst I could!
mad hope you had an easier night last night...well done on napping, and well done to Mr Mad for doing so well!
winnie Hi! glad you feeling on top of it all. It feels good doesnt it!

Well had a nice, but busy day yesterday. All enjoyed swimming , and had a nice DVD evening with DD 1 and 2
However DD3 did turn into a TOTAL demon for about 4 hours at end of day.Seriously she can be sooo demanding at times, happens less these days but still she can drive me nuts like none of the others !

Not doing much today -
Church this morning
Clean washing away
Would like to do some digging in the back ....(didnt happen yesterday!)
Roast for dinner, need to make a yummy pudding!
DS back from scout camp later ... will need de-mudding!

Seem to also be feeling a bit grumpy today. Really could also do with a child free hour or two...but not looking likey...Will try and jolly myself up a bit somehow!
Have a good day all!

galen · 08/03/2009 06:46

Hmmm not feeling jolly yet - DD's 2,3 and 4 all arguing already and Ds2 throwing toast over floor.....oh well it could be a looong day!

EHM · 08/03/2009 08:26

MOrning ALL

Hopefully be back later to catch up.

TheMadHouse · 08/03/2009 10:00

Morning all

wendy child free time is really importatn, it is what keeps us sane. I have so little and charrish what I do have.

galen sounds like a decent start to me, enjoy church

EHM I would love to meet up over the next couple of weeks.

I still have the dreaded drains in, but I have rang and am going to the dressing clinic, just to be looked over. I also have thrush - anti-b's me thinks - so will get some meds for that too.

I am OK at the mo, DH has gone to collect mum to watch the boys.

DH is starting to lag, he is finding the constent earlier mornings a killer , which I could give him a lie in, but I can not yet, as I can not move for a good 30 mins, until I have had tablets etc

Wolfcub · 08/03/2009 10:14

Morning all here's hoping we all have a good day. Bbl
