My washing machine smells like mouldy old cheese!!

and is stinking my kitchen out. I have treid doing a 90 degree wash with nothing in it but still smells awful! Any suggestions please

I'd try running the longest, hottest cycle with a glug of bleach and then a cold cycle afterward just to make sure all the bleach is gone.

Oh, and it'd be worth giving the draw and seal a damn good scrub first too.

I think Aggie whatserface suggested running it with white vinegar in it.

I plan to try it with mine, all my washing machines pong to high heaven within days of getting them new.

Apparently its due to all the lower temperature washes we all do now.

Buy a specialist cleaning product at the ironmonger's.

And make sure you do at least one wash at 90° every week, and several at 60°.

Vinegar works better than bleach.

I was told by a washing machine fixer to put soda crystals in the machine and put it on the hottest wash.

Check there's nothing stuck in the valve thingy (sorry) at the bottom. You often find things lurking in there that can cause nasty smells.

Oh yes, don't forget to clean the filter. That could easily be a big chunk of the problem.
