do cream black out curtains keep out as much light as dark ones??

desperatly trying to find some for both ds's room but dont have time to buy and do linings etc. ds1 window is huge and looks like im going to have to get made to measure. Anyone recommend? Also i cant help but think cream wouldnt block out as much light as say dark blue?

They do. It is the density of the material that works, not the colour.

yes, they do. as mintyy says, it's the density of the fabric itself that blocks the light, they can be any colour.
i have white ones and they work just fine
