Any idea why ice is appearing in my freezer door?

I thought someone had accidentally left the door open so scraped the ice off and made sure the door closed properly. But now every time I look in the freezer there is more ice on the inside of the door and down the front of the drawers? Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I think it had supposed to auto-defrost (never had to defrost it before anyway!) so don't think it needs defrosting. Its only a couple of years old so hoping there's nothing wrong with it!

Any ideas?

maybe the seal is going?

Is it hard to open?

also thought of the door seal. have you checked the hinges to make sure there are no bits of ice / frozen peas or whatever stopping the door from closing completely? have you got a thermometer thingy for freezers, to check it's running at the right temp? ours did this when it decided to go on a mega-freeze, and I think a small pair of hands may have switched a switch or turned a dial

Will check the seal - the ice isn't around the edges though and it isn't hard to open.
