Candle wax oil on carpet?

Lovely DH sent a candle flying, wax sprayed across the room and is embedded in the carpet. Have tried the ironing it out onto brown paper trick but had left large oily marks.

Any brain waves anyone?

There is a product called DeSolvIt for wax removal. It definitely works on clothing and I thought I had some to check if carpets were included in the 'useful for' blurb, but I can't find it. I bought it in Aldi about a year ago, but it must be available elsewhere...hth.

There is a website though I can't do links. Google DeSolvIt wax removal.

Or try this(though I haven't!).

or potentially for a cheaper option, just get a tea towel and iron over the affected area. the wax will melt and the tea towel will absorb it.
