morning all

I have been up since 4 with ds who woke up having thrown up all over his cot [boak]

All staying at home today, sickness reigns in the Wolf Den and I am feeling very grim. DS is full of beans but looks very pale and interesting.

done

folded dry washing
hung up wet washing
stripped cot bedding and ds, put in wm (shame ds can't go in there)
cleaned soft toys
cleaned mattress

Am up and dressed, have phoned granny to tell her to go back to bed, need to email the boss next.

I hope all have a good day. mr mad I hope the ds's have a good time at nursery and stay and play if they are going today. Give our love to the delightful Mrs Mad.

Poor you, Wolf and baby wolfcub.
Greyskull, glad DS2 feeling better. I can imagine your dragonflies hovering already. I wrote hoovering by mistake but that doesn't have quite same appeal.

hello shannara

well dd slept through last night and woke up a little more cheerful. she has ahd no more spots come out over night, nd lots of the ones she has are starting to scab over- so fingers crossed we on the way out of it now.

am feeling pleased with this mornings excercise. i walked ds to school (just over 1km) then once he'd gone in i walked fast up hill for about .300 km then jogged home the rest (about .800km). all this with dd in buggy. (normally walk to school and back,on my days off, but made the route back slightly longer than usual). feeling so pleased with myself as i wasn't overly breathless when i got home, no need to take my inhaler . feeling slightly more capable of doing the race for life i signed up for now. just need to find more time to practise

HerbWoman · 02/03/2009 10:35

Morning all.

Just taking a quick break from the ironing (mainly because I had breakfast too early, only toast and was v hungry).

Had a long list for today (which I have put on my whiteboard in the kitchen) but DS has asked to come home for lunch so don't think I'll get it all done. He keeps asking not to go to school, doesn't seem to be really enjoying it, and lunch at home might just give him a break.

Wolf hope ds is improving - any more sick?
Sag Why feeling like crap?
Dyls Glad dd is starting to feel better. Are the spots still itchy?

Does anyone know when TMH is due home?

swanriver · 02/03/2009 10:48

Herbwoman, sympathise with your school problem. I used to take ds2 home AFTER lunch 3 days a week when he was in Reception, so he got the playtime. In the end he became a bit more acclimatized. He was one of only three children out of 60 to do it, and in the end they bludgeoned me into sending him in fulltime (till 3.10. I think it skewed their attendance records for him to miss afternoon sessions. He loves school (up to a point) now, and always was very fond of his teachers, but just couldn't take the pace and noise etc. Not sure what age your ds is... But that's nice they let him home for lunch.

dylsmum1998 · 02/03/2009 11:02

herb ah bless how old is you ds? good that he's able to come home for lunch.
i haven't noticed dd itching, although i did catch her trying to pick one of the scabby ones off, she said she doesnt want them anymore and was tryin to pull it off. i explained that if she did that her blood would come out and she hasn't done it since.

so far today i have done
tidy
hoover
sort dry washing
load washer
unload washer
load washer
dust
s&s bathroom
tidied the shoe/coat cupboard
washed all the doors and door frames down
mission
detailed hoover in hall (under rug etc)
wash up

am just off to play for a bit before lunch,

then need to
make lunch
change table cloth
iron
find any more dry washing
hang up more to dry
dinner- salmon and pasta today
collect ds from school

Hi all.

Hope poorly/spotty/pewky LOs soon on the mend!

Herb- sympathy for ds. School is such a big deal, so all or nothing. swans approach sounds good. I had dds acceptance letter last week and feel a bit wobbly about her starting school (for no real reason).

I am all upside down today. I had some really sad news last night. My Dads lovely partner (of 15 yrs) has secondary cancer in her spine (she had BC some time ago). She is not at all well and they are preparing for the worst. I feel so helpless as they live 200 miles away so there is very little i can do to support them. My poor Dad sounded quite lost .

I am busy at work and will try and tackle house bless later.

scatty I'm so sorry about your news, like ruby said I am sure that you can offer a lot of comfort and support to your dad

ruby which on are you on facebook mn fly? I know which ones you aren't but I don't know which one you are IYSWIM. If you're not on facebook I'll add CAT to my MN account so that I can e-mail you my address

herbwoman ds has stopped throwing up, unfortunately he's started at the other end!

I hope all the other sickly/bumped/sore tooth small people (and big people) start to feel better soon

Hi all

Back after dropping DS (and DD as she fancied coming home for lunch too, although she loves school and couldn't wait to get back to see her friends) at school again. DS was 4 in July and is in reception. Like your DS Swan I think the noise does get to him a bit - he even said that he didn't want to go back this afternoon because it is too noisy there, but went in OK. We had 5 minutes in the playground near school so they could have a bit of a run before being cooped up again for the afternoon (they sound like a pair of dogs ).
Scatty really sorry to hear your Dad's news. Ruby is right - you'll be able to offer more support than you think, although physically you might be restricted, being such a distance away. Re your DD - I was exactly the same when I got DS's letter. He settled very well to start with and I think it is just because he realises now that this happens almost every day.

Dyls I'm glad your DD has stopped picking. If I'd said that to my DD (although she hasn't had CP) she'd think "Ooh great, let's see!".

Right. Not going to have time to do everything now, so must go.

Wolfcub · 02/03/2009 14:01

dyls TMH is the mn fly admin, I think she might need to invite you to join because it's a secret group (i.e it doens't show in profiles), I don't know if any of the rest of us can do it.

wendyredredrobin · 02/03/2009 14:15

hello all Scatty sorry to hear your news
wolf Poor DS and you, hope your day is bearable
Herb I have a friend in the same position, DS was 4 in July and he is in full time - she has found it an uphill struggle and he is even on 'report' (in Reception!!) for naughtiness - which she says is just being (a)4 and (b) tired! it's good you can bring him home for lunch, they are only little, aren't they?

DS kept off nursery this morning and got my mum to come and look after him as I was at the hospital with DD (still the broken finger saga). He has been loads better and even eaten some breakfast and some lunch today but he went tired about 1 and took himself to sleep on the sofa. I am very tired too, up 5 times with him in the night. We are all tired Flymummies.

MrMad please tell mad we are thinking of her lots

just decluttering the bathroom. I don't even know what zone we are this week!

wendyredredrobin · 02/03/2009 14:20

Oh, Entrance, front porch and dining room I don't have any of these although I do have a hall which probably counts. So I will get on with decluttering those hall drawers [gulp]
