Has anyone ever used a laundry service?

For various reasons something's got to give and we figured if we could just subcontract one thing washing would be the easiest and would really make life easier right now.

Are there places that do it by the load like a normal laundrette service wash but who also pick up? i can only find ones that itemise each garment.

Sounds very posh and indulgent I know but needs must right now...

Friends use shirt services - they wash and iron I think

Can't you take it to the launderette?

yes that's what we do sometimes but in a flat so lots of stairs plus young children plus sacks of washing - not the easiest thing in world. i think i'll just have to come up with something with dh helping with it because i think all the pick up services look extortionate.
