Has anyone ever used Ovenclean?

My oven is really hard to clean, it's a large range type with 6 burners on top so hard to get in and really scrub, I was thinking of treating myself to getting Ovenclean in (such an exciting life I lead now ). Has anyone ever had them and is it worth it?

Thanks

putting your oven racks in a bin bag with a splash of ammonia, tie bag up tight and leave overnight works really well and is LOADS cheaper.

put about a tablespoon of ammonia on the bottom of your oven, shut the door and leave overnight.

clean thoroughly.

a bottle of ammonia is a couple of quid, BUT is pretty nasty smelly stuff and needs to be treated with care!!!

I was quoted £85 by ovenu to clean my double oven and 6 burner hob. I'm slatternly but not up for £85.

I bought some OvenPride for £3.45 at Tesco and cleaned it last weekend. Spotless! I was so impressed as I hate the pong of oven cleaner and OvenPride didn't smell at all.

The 'clean thoroughly' bit is the problem joosey. My oven is a big old bugger and I can't do it properly. More to the point I'm not very good at it and lack the motivation and the time.

I'm doing a great job of convincing myself here aren't I?!

i should have said 'rinse thoroughly'!!

the ammonia eats through the grease and crap and you just have to wipe it off.....honest!!!

save your money, buy a bottle of ammonia and spend the rest on wine and smelly cheese!!

I use ovenclean religiously. It costs me £35 but stays clean for about 6 months afterwards. For nr it is well worth the price.
