you need one with a rotating brush.....we have a miele cat and dog but don't know about a budget option.

what about a damp mop on the wooden floor?....i'm imagining a broom sort of wafting the dog hair up into the air....if you have any little ones at home they will love helping you with a mop

we use a dyson or a henry if that helps

I also have one of those rubber brush/sweeper thingings from JML, which create static and sort of attract the dog hair iyswim very vague I know!

miele 'cat and dog' or henry. Its a 50/50 split between these two.
Don't bother with a dyson, not worth the money imo

Thanks all. I have a dyson upright, and it is rubbish on the dog hair.

have heard good things about miele but they're spendy.

Large damp mop with a wide head plus a plant spray bottle with special wood floor soap is all you need.

Couple of little squits with the bottle and then provide just enough dampness and then just slide the mop along the floor like a lawnmower.

Clean the hair off the mop by pulling it of in a roll with your hand every now and then as you go.

That sounds pretty crafty, ABetaDad. Will give that a go, thanks.

Miele cat and dog

Miele cat and dog excellent on hard floor and carpet. Have had mine six years and still going strong.

You need a Robomop!

My MIL has one to pick up dog & cat hair from wood floor and it's great, and very entertaining!

You just set the amount of time you want it to run for, put it on the floor and off it pootles on its own.

They're only about £30 I think.

Henry is the overall winner IMO, all my family have dogs all have a henry and all have wooden floors. Cant beat the Henry, or you could go for Hetty just to be girlie! lol

definately the miele Cat & Dog
