Glad I am not hte only one who has this problem-really thought I ws going mad.

Sounds like me you end up buying a whole new set every year?

DadOnAHotTinRoof · 24/02/2009 18:26

Noo, you don't need to do that! It's the batteries in the handsets that go, not the whole kaboodle.

Pop the handset open, get the battery out, google for the scary looking numbers printed on it to find a replacement, by one... 10 quid, working phone, pop goes the weasel.

The other problem I have with the little sod is that I forget where I've put it. As the batteries run out very quickly, I can't use the find handset. It goes dead when I'm on the phone or trying to call someone. It's been on charge all day, I took it off to call someone now it's dead! ARGHHH!! I've not called them yet!

I have changed my batteried loads fo times and they still die on me eventually.

It might be cheaper to buy a normal phone that isn't cordless in the long run then.

you can sometimes over charge cordless phones

its good to let them off the base and start to run down and also to rund down completly and then re charge

how long do your batterys last - should be at least a year

Yes, i did the same as blondeshavemore fun said, with my last two sets, a few years ago now. I kept popping them in the handset so was over charging them. I took them back to the shop each time and eventually got my last set and just make sure i always run them down before i charge. I have had this last set quite a few years now.....will probably break now i've said that!!

My BT ones take normal rechargeable batteries which need changing every 6m or so. I tend to forget to put the phone back run the battery down before recharging.
