gas cooker rings, how can i get them shiny?

im sick of my cooker, i hate it, its stainless steel. its just the rings, they are awkward to clean, although i can get them clean, they are not shiny, please someone tell me how to make them shine again, thanks

Have you tried stainless steel polish? M&S does a very good ecologically friendly one.

OK when I had the oven cleaner guy to sort my cook and hob out, he used a wide flat wire stainless steel scourer dry and said it was the only thing that really worked, not to use them wet because they didn't grip the gunk so well, and that products didn't really work and would dull the finish.

Thing is most rings are actually aluminium even if your hob is stainless steel, and aluminium goes dull really easily esp if you put it in the dishwasher.

I would try that if yours are aluminium.
