About 4 days.

My washing machine is knackered.

BlueCowWondersAboutPancakes · 23/02/2009 15:43

Machine as per NannyL - love it! esp the countdown bit.

different time for diff fabric - cotton either 2hr4 or 1hr4; synthetics 1hr20 or 53 min; wool 54; etc etc

but 'quick' option for nearly all cycles.

poopscoop · 23/02/2009 15:46

40 mins

Dilettante · 23/02/2009 15:49

My new Miele has a 30 min express wash at 40 degrees but I can also do a 1 hour, 1.5 hour or 2 hour wash.

2 hours is long, with no short option!

ohdearwhatamess · 23/02/2009 15:57

1.5 hours synthetics
2 hours cotton

Zanussi

Furball · 23/02/2009 16:14

1hr 16 mins on normal but can do a 50 mins on a shorter one

barbarapym · 23/02/2009 16:18

50 mins, with lovely digital countdown. John Lewis 3 year guaranteed model. Best wm I've ever had that ( watch it break down now I've said that...!)

CaptainKarvol · 23/02/2009 16:37

1 hr 14 (Bosch, fairly basic model)

Polgara2 · 23/02/2009 16:40

1h 40 Bosch

DanJARMouse · 23/02/2009 16:43

32 mins quick wash

2hrs normal wash
machine is about 6mnths old.

BONKERZ · 23/02/2009 16:47

my old not very energy efficient machine took just 40 mins for a quick wash , we got a new a grade energy one that just has a cold water inlet and it takes 1:45 to do a 40 load but uses 20% less energy than old machine! I dont understand! LMAO

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/02/2009 16:51

Could not cope with 2hour wash cycles. My Bosch has a very good quick cycle - about 35 mins, and that gets used for everything. I wash everything after one wear anyway so nothing is really dirty, as such.

Whites get a handful of soda crystals thrown in so they don't go grey.

The only exception is when dd's rugby/football kit gets muddy, that is then treated to a long wash.

maretta · 23/02/2009 16:56

47 minutes

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/02/2009 16:59

lol at myself on being so strangely interested at the responses on this thread.

Secretly love housekeeping threads, I remember one about a year ago about teatowels that went on for about 250 posts iirc

mileniwmffalcon · 23/02/2009 17:01

50 mins ish for quick wash (mostly use this), around 2 hrs cotton wash. bosch, cheapest one john lewises do.

Ceolas · 23/02/2009 17:03

Synthetic wash takes 55 mins

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 23/02/2009 20:38

Right - now I'm quietly hoping for my washing machine to break down so that I can get one that's quicker!!

duckyfuzz · 23/02/2009 20:40

122 mins for full load cottons
86 mins for full load synthetics
