Do you have a shoe rack for everyday shoes? If so where do you have it?

As I'm stumped as to where to put mine. In the old house is fitted perfectly into a spot in the kitchen (hallway was too narrow for it).

It doesn't really fit in the kitchen (well I suppose it might once I've got rid of the massive fridge freezer and got undercounter ones), there's no where big enough to put it in the hallway so I'm sort of stumped as to where to stick it.

We built a shoe cupboard- floor to ceiling - just deep enough for shoes.
I heart my shoe cupboard

We initially had an over-the-door rack in the utility room off the hallway.

Then we took the door down, so now day to day shoes are on an IKEA rack by the door that doubles as a small bench seat.

we have a special shoe-and-coat cupboard [smug]

if you have moved you need to think about getting shoe raqck that'll fit a convenient space, not finding a space to fit your old shoe rack

if you see what I mean

All the family's shoes are on an old cheap bookcase, in the garage (the garage is integral to the house).

Mine are lovingly stored in boxes, labelled (red boots - black boots - flip flops etc) and take up 2 of the 4 shelves.

Everyone else has their own shelf, and I just fling them on, as I've generally collected them from various parts of the house.

Have you got space in the cupboard under the stairs?

FAQinglovely · 16/02/2009 12:11

problem is it won't fit next to the door, as you go in through the front door you have the downstairs toilet door on the left, then a tiny bit of wall - which isn't wide enough for it to fit, then a recessed bit where the (tiny) cupboard under the stairs is and then the staircase. On the right is a huge long radiator and then the doorway into the kitchen and living room.

cupboard / shelves in loo?

FAQinglovely · 16/02/2009 12:13

MrsBadger - I would get another shoe rack - except I only bought this one a few months ago (just before I found out I'd have to move) and I've got a long list of other stuff the I need to buy - including a fridge and freezer .

Suppose I could stick it in the garage (door directly to it from the kitchen) for the time being until I've thought of something better.
