How do I get ingrained grease stains out of clothes?

Just been doing laundry and have found that lots of the baby's clothes and mine (due to his mucky pawprints getting everywhere) have grease stains in them that haven't come out. Get this occasionally but seems partic bad at the moment. No idea what the stains are, although probably butter given DS's love of it.

Normally use non-bio (Persil) plus conditioner (Ecover) on a 40C wash in slightly crappy washing machine.

What can I do to get rid of them?

You can get a stain-devil for grease, or try just rubbing a bit of washing-up liquid into it and then rinse out before it goes into machine.

Oxiclean neat rubbed into the stain. Or Bicarb for a greener option. It it soak in and then rewash.

Soda crystals and boiling water. Steep them overnight, rinse through then a hot iron.

Rub some talcum powder into the stains, leave for a while and then wash as normal.
