Afternoon all

Just got back from the hospital to find DH had come home from work too - snow is really heavy, although it is suppose to turn to rain and be gone by morning

I could have had my carpel tunnel done tomorrow as they had had a cancellation. They can not do uip during my major op, but have booked it in for beginning of May.

DH is now taking mum home, as I did not want to drive in the snow again. its not my driving that bothers me, its the other nutters.

Rubes Shoes sound cool
Dame Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww for DS4
Sag and Wendy Hope you are feeling better soon
Greyskull DH tells me 12 reasons was written for me and I always tell him I have marriage blisters

Sorry must go and stop fight, will be back soon

TheMadHouse · 12/02/2009 15:30

galen I have just ordered this as a friend has one and loves it, although she paid full price for it (our dyson as died yet again and this is cheeper than fixing it) - free delivery too

scattyspice · 12/02/2009 15:52

Mad - one op at a time is enough lol.

Have nearly broken my back dragging DD on sledge to school and dragging both Dcs back from school! Didn't help that DD decided she didn't like snow half way home and wailed the rest of the way! Mind it is coming down heavy now!

swanriver · 12/02/2009 15:59

Back from school. No homework to speak of Food in fridge. Out tonight for drink with friends in pub. Found good book in charity shop sequel to inpenetrable one. Took back overdue Dvd. Bought frames for dcs' artwork. so far.

Now to reclaim children from irritability and grrr factor. Dd wants to make coloured icecubes. I think after I've had a cup of tea.

Scatty you sound like a heroine in a Norwegian tale. You must be very fit!

If only Swan. When I got home i looked like this !

grouchyoscar · 12/02/2009 17:05

Greyskull Good to see another indie geek Spent too much time in The Duchess Of York (rip) in Leeds watching lots of gone and long forgotten bands. 1st date with DH was at a Power of Dreams gig there!

Oh Hello All Not had time to catch up fully on the thread so a Large Grouchy WAVE instead.

Did the morning routines,
loaded WM and run
Loaded TD and run
Get Ed to school
Go to course reunion
Home, empty WM and sort for drying
Take upstairs to hang up
Take down damp stuff, load TD and run
Take dry stuff up for putting away
Arrange building and contents insurance (saving £25 a month )
Make lunch
Head off for meeting in snow
Find out my personal statement is hopeless (not to worry, I expected it and there's time)

and I've just got home, it is freezing in Huddersfield BTW

So I have to

DO Homework with Ed
Do lunchbox for morning
get Uniform ready
Do self audit (?)
Do personal statement

Bye ladies

swanriver · 12/02/2009 17:51

Have done some craft with dts! Coloured icecubes, then Dinosaur skeletons (pasta) in out of date flour salt dough with food colouring.
Also ds1's maths homework which had me baffled for a short time
They are back in front of telly now, and I need to make supper and hang out washing/dishes.

BBtomorrow ladies.

evening all.

spag bol done for tea
more flowers made.

supposed to be going out with some ladies this evening but it is snowing quite hard.. wonder if they still want to go.

boys watching chuggington.

GO I spent most of my money at Uni going to Gigs, I was more of a wannabe indie chick - my best friend was a fully paid up member - I think it was my collection of east 17 records that banned me from being a full member

Will add more cakes to profile when I get the pictures off the camera.

back later

TheMadHouse · 12/02/2009 19:23

Greyskull We have lots of snow and wouldnt brave it tonight, although DH reliably informs me that it will be all gone by the morning

Scatty I agree one operation is enough for now, but they want to do this in May.

Boys are in bed
Washer is on

We are contenplating a kingsize bed. Tell me what do you lot have?

galen · 12/02/2009 19:34

Evening all grouchy great list - well odne
greyskull have just looked at your cakes - they are fab!
swan well done on the crafts!
mad THANKS for the link. Looks a fab hoover, and what a great deal! Have ordered one and am actually excited! Is it sad to be excited bout a hoover?!
We have a super-kingsize bed. We got it about 6 years ago when we moved to this house. Best thing we ever got! Has had various children sleeping in it with us at various points and comfortably accomodates 2 adults and a small one!Loads of room when there is just 2 of you - FAB I would so recomend one. Only downside is changing the bedding is a bit of a pain! I read somewhere that an average sized adult in a double bed with partner actually has less sleeping space than a baby in a cot!

So not done much today.
Poor DD4 was very sad, needed lots of hugging and hair stroking.Has gone to bed now looking very poorly. Hope she gets a good nights sleep tonight.

Managed to do basics here only.
Some washing
Dinner
Tidying
S&S

Oh and ordered a new hoover LOL

Lots to do tomorrow, and kids all off for inset day.... too tired to think about it really... Off to read to DD2 and then collaps on sofa with book if I can stay awake long enough!
see you all tomorrow!

ShannaraTiger · 12/02/2009 21:35

Evening all

for everyone with poorly dc's or poorly themselves.
I'm so not on the FLY wagon atm.
I'm not sure the new epilepsy medicine is quite right for me, so it's making me a bit twitchy, lots of support especialy on facebook so it's nice to know I'm not alone.
Will try to get better organised.
BB Tomorrow, dd has staff training so will be enjoying half term early.

wendyredredrobin · 12/02/2009 21:49

Grouchy and Scatty I was an indie kid too at university - I was Bands rep for a while for the Union and got to book and hang with all the 'exciting' bands! I was Union Secretary after that in charge of the lot - it was fab, one of the best times of my life. Mind you it was a small venue so the bands weren't mind blowing and the sweat used to drip off the walls, ceiling, amps ... so it wasn't glamorous!
Shannara you are not alone!
Mad and Galen hoover looks good!
Mad we have just a plain old double bed I'm afraid
Hello Greyhairs
and Grouchy the offer still stands on help with the personal statement. I was a 6th form tutor at school for 5 years and have re-written more personal statments than I can remember (many of them for teaching apps) If snotty stuck up no life experience 17 year olds can get a place, then you can go with your eyes closed I think!!! My email address is wendylanguage at tiscali dot co dot uk

Well off to bake some cookies for friend who has just had a baby girl - we are off to see her tomorrow. I don't do tiny babies really (wasn't that struck with my own, really! til about 3 or 4 months old) but I am very excited about it and am sure I will be very broody! (Good job it's Valentine's night. Both my dc conceived in February ) Hope not to have any torn skull muscles in this house though aka Wolf 's man lol

wendyredredrobin · 12/02/2009 22:46
