Help! I've borrowed George from my mum and he appears to be on strike!

I'm trying to clean my lounge carpet and have assembled George as per the instructions in the box. For some reason he is refusing to spray the water/detergent mixture. I've tried re-assembling him several times and it seems that the water is getting as far as the trigger handle but is getting no further. Does anyone have any bright ideas for how I can get George to clean my carpet?

Dunno, he's usually only useful for sleeping in the kitchen cupboard and occasionally coming out and grilling stuff.

I'm talking about a carpet cleaner. I think that he may have a blocked tube. Poor George.
