Help!

I have 2 Ikea sofas in cream, that are now wrecked, stains everywhere. So i cover them with throws and they look fine... shabby chic.

BUT i am moving house soon and will have to remove them throwless and i really don't want people to see them, so what can i use on them to remove the stains? Will scrubbing them make it worse, as they are fabric?

Vanish upholstery shampoo spray and a scrubbing brush bought the manky arms of my sofa back to life.

PestoDrizzleMonster · 10/02/2009 20:10

Can you get them re-covered?

NorbertDentressangle · 10/02/2009 20:12

How about a steam cleaner?

One with a nozzle/attachment for upholstery

I'm getting them re-covered after we move, DH wants new ones, but even with the stains, i love them, they are comfy and are wearing well, so i'm keeping them.

Will have a look our for the vanish, thanks.

Anymore ideas?

Could you somehow pin the throws to themif the Vanish doesn't work?

NorbertDentressangle · 10/02/2009 20:19

I've got it!

Why not buy a big roll of opaque thick plastic sheeting and wrap the sofas in it.

You can claim that you've wrapped them to stop them getting dirty or damaged during the move.

SmallShips · 10/02/2009 20:21

Ohhh good idea, we used that last time we moved!

Will see if DH has any left at work!

Thank you!

You could buy 2 sofa covers from ikea...
Be careful if cleaning them not to get them too wet, we were given one that someone had steam cleaned and it had yellow wtermarks all over it, eek!
