have just used one of those dishwasher cleaner thing and athough it now smells veryfresch and looks clean generally, there is a load of scummy yukky stuff around the edges - particularly around the door.

Shouldn't the cleaner get rid of that or do I need to do something else aswell?

You need to actually do that bit yourself I'm afraid! That bit is sort of water tight so that when your dishwasher is on the water stays in the dishwasher and not all over your floor. So although bits of food and stuff gets stuck there it is actually usually from when you are loading the dishwasher.

Sorry!

thanks - the dishwasher is usually DH's department

I wondered if it was just because it's on its last legs. It was much mankier than it usually is!!
