Mop Zoning

I have recently moved to a house with all hard floors. Out with the hoover, in with the mop.

I initially bought one mop and bucket but I decided it was a bit nasty to use the same mop to do round the loo (I have a recently out of nappies 2 year old) and the kitchen (I have a blw 9 month old).

Now I have 2 mops and a lot of questions.

When ds wees in the kitchen do I use the bathroom mop or the kitchen mop?

What about bedrooms? Kitchen mop or bathroom mop or a third mop?

Do I use the bathroom mop for the downstairs loo? Should ONLY loo floors be cleaned with the orange mop and everywhere else with the red mop?

How about the time ds pooed in the dining room?

The bedroom and the ensuite - 2 different mops? This is surely madness. Or is it?

It's madness, get a mop with a washable head, always do bathroom last then throw mop head in washing machine, problem solved

I have a hard deck brush and wrap a floor cloth around the end of it. Same principle as wolfcub really.

......are you really serious here???

Actually it's good hygiene practice to have separate mops for different areas (and is pretty standard on commercial premises) - I'd certainly keep the bathroom mop away from the kitchen mop if you can. If you're going to do that though you ought to have two buckets or you're only doing half a job.

Oh yes. Completely serious. Is not that odd a notion is it?

I do have two buckets too.
Red mop with red bucket: Mostly kitchen, dining room and sitting room (about twice daily because I really do have very messy children).
Orange mop with orange bucket: Bathrooms.

Good tip to bung the heads in the washing machine. I'll definitely do that.

Still wondering about some of my questions.
