Roger the Roomba arrived last night.

Does it cope with piles of general tat lying about the place.

Yes will it sort through the dirty washing?

it can cope with wires and stuff,it just sort of hops off them in a panicky manner

I just pick up toys/socks/books and turn him on.We have open plan downstairs and use the laser thing that stops it going into certain areas.It is more efficient doing one area at a time.

well it did put a red sock in the whites today..

Roger is being collected tomorrow.

DP has definitely taken against the Roomba idea now so we are requesting a refund. Just hope I don't have to argue the toss once they get him back and "ascertain that he is indeed faulty". [wishes she'd bought from John Lewis emoticon]

I'm hopeful that Roger will shortly be heading out to a nice farm where he can live out the rest of his days untroubled by the need to actually, well, work....

My husbnd bought one for Xmas and Robert as he is known is great. It took a while for him to learn to negotiate things in his way but he does a good job. Ocassionally he tries to swallow a skipping rope left on the floor and at Xmas found the wires for the lights on the tree a litle too tempting but he is definately worth his money. The dog isn't too keen on him and the other day the cat nearly had her tail swallowed by him...she moved pretty fast away from him after that!
