Where (online) can I buy fabric (a little bit padded) to line shelves?

I have a beautiful new cupboard for my crockery and glass so would like to staple fabric on it to stop them getting chipped. Is there anywhere online I can buy this sort of fabric (and, what is this sort of fabric called?)?

I haven't heard of anyone using fabric for a long time. I use the ikea plastic bubble liners to protect the shelves and the crockery. It isn't pretty but then again you don't really see it.

I've never seen fabric used for this either. I would use a cushioned shelf liner from somewhere like Lakeland or Ikea or else some nice thick paper - good quality wrapping paper or wallpaper. Or oilcloth would be wipeable?

I've seen this loads of times (in France) always with very pretty fabric which even though most people won't see it, I will so I would like it to make me smile! I'm talking about a cupboard in the living/dining room rather than in the kitchen.

I think your best bet would be to buy some nice fabric and back it with thin polyester wadding yourself.
