Help please - a washing query

The other day I made potato and onion rosti (very tasty!!) I squeezed out the liquid from the onions and potatoes using tea towels. I then put said tea towels in the washing machine with a normal load of clothes. Washed as normal. The problem is that the smell from the onions has permeated through to all the other clothes!! I have washed the clothes twice since and they still smell!! Should I try tumble drying them?? A couple of peices can't go in the tumble drier though. What can I do??!!

Try rinsing everything again with a couple of table spoons of distilled white vinegar - that is good at removing smells, and is OK to use on delicates (I've used it on cashmere with no problem)

put it all through the wash with just bicardbonate of soda and no washing powder?

Great suggestions!! Thank you!! I will try them. Won't be doing the rosti thing again using teatowels that's for sure!!

If you do use tea towels (or muslins or anything else reusable) - wash them separately

That's a better idea!! Just didn't give it a thought tbh!
