sorry to sound obvious but is it vibrating next to something?

GiveMeChocolateNOW · 30/01/2009 19:42

Ours started making strange noises then packed up after a week or two, it was the fan.

Difficult to advise re. plumber, in any case be prepared. Do you know a good one? It may be about to kaput

lucysmam · 30/01/2009 19:42

lol, nope, we checked that out.

it's just buzzing for some unknown reason

someone I was talking to the other day suggested the fan maybe but I was hoping not as it's only just been put in the house by the landlords agents plumber. They are reliable though, very, fortunately.

Feel quite sorry for the poor bloke who keeps getting our jobs actually. He spent weeks repeatedly coming back to our old house when we had no heating or hot water, trying to fix it for us. The look on his face was priceless when he turned up at this house & here we are agin with a dodgy heatig system!

At least landlord can pay! Ours cost £££ just b4 christmas, not good

lucysmam · 30/01/2009 20:08

true, except she's skint. We've been trying to get it sorted for 6 weeks (since we moved in) as we can't have just hot water, the heating has to be on in order to get it.

But now the buzzing as well . . . not good! It's like a fly that won't bugger off!

Ours is doing it too.

I had british gas guy out a week ago and he barely looked at it even though I suggested it might be the fan (of course, I'm an expert on these things), saying it was just the casing.

The noise has got louder now and I'm dreading it packing up in the next few days with the weather turning freezing again.

I have visions of the same thing, an electrician is next door at the mo who did some work here & he thinks there's a valve missing from inside the boiler itself so the whole thing will eventually break down
