Wiping painted walls.

I've had my walls painted a creamy pale colour and every time someone so much as looks at these bloody walls, a dirty mark will appear.
Fine I thought, just wipe with a dry/damp cloth. Anyway, while mark disappears a smudgy patch will appears from the cloth I wipe with. (Clean one by the way)
Question, how and with what product do I use to just give my walls a gentle wipe down without them making them look worse?

Have you tried a magic sponge? JML make them. You could always go over them with left over paint (if you have some. It needs to be the same batch).

Thanks. No I haven't tried a magic sponge but I will now.

And next time you decorate, get scrubbable emulsion.

I touch up with paint - not the same batch as the walls were done before I moved in. I just took a chip and got it matched at Brewers, seems to work fine.
