Do you have pets? If so the Cat and Dog one, I have this and it is great, especially on the carpets for picking up hairs etc.

And it's got special filters for allergies etc.

I bought this one on Thursday. Must say tis bloody hard work on high power on carpet (upstairs) sucked so hard lifted the carpet and was quite alot of effort to a first timer to use it.

Next time will turn it down abit. Tis harder work than an upright which seem to just glide along.

I read loads of reviews on here and they all rate the smaller one It's a 'which' best buy, the reason I didn't go for it is it has smaller dust collection bags and no onboard storage for the tools.

I have the cat and dog one, it is fab, so much better than my dysons

I would get the red pearl, it's a limited edition and comes with a free 5 year warranty. The difference in cost between the £200 ish models is what heads they come with and whether the power adjustment control is a manual dial that you turn or something electronic.

The red pearl as the manual dial and no hard floor head (which you don't need) hence it should be good for 5 years cos there's very little to go wrong on them IYSWIM.

Another fan of the cat and dog. Excellent.

The cat and dog one has a charcoal filter not HEPA (Asthma type one) but they are interchangeable so can swap them. I recently got the cat and dog one, we haven't any pets but a hairy husband! good on wood/tiled floors and carpets with the turbo brushes (get two with the cat and dog one). Dyson are a faff for their tools, couldn't be doing with one of those. With the Miele bag almost full still excellent pickup, have to turn the power down on my nice rug in the lounge otherwise would suck it up!
