It's only a year old but there is an awful dirty water smell coming out of it..
Any ideas? Thanks

Try putting a dishwasher tablet in and running the hottest cycle you have. Either that or make up a weak bleach solution and wash the rubber door seal, getting right into all the 'creases'.

Not sure what else to suggest though - will watch with interest.

there was a thread on this recently that I read with interest and iirc there was a link to a very good website that had lots of tips and suggestions. I had a bad smell but doing the bleach wash and taking out the powder draw and giving it a good wash seem to have helped. I'll see if I can find it for you

found it , see what you think www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=161

I use something called 'Service-It' which is a product specifically made for cleaning washing machines. You can buy it in Sainsbury's, probably other supermarkets as well.

I also take out the powder drawer and give it rinse after each wash.

Oust is pretty good or you could use soda a crystals and run it through on it's hottest cycle

I think you might need to solve why it's smelling like that in the first place. Is it draining properly? Does it drain into the sink outlet and is it possible that some of the dirty water could be washing back into the machine?

I had this problem last week. I eventually found out that there was a lot of sludge built up on all sides of the rubber ring (have a look on the bit nearest the drum as well as in the middle fold of the metal ring.

It was vile but now smells normal

Thank you so much. I put 2 dishwasher tablets in on a 90 degree wash. Pulled out drawer and cleaned rubber round door with mild bleach and voila smell has gone.

Mine smelt horrid when I used ecover washing liquid, had to use regular stuff cause it wasn't cleaning my washable nappies or the machine properly.
