About 120x180 wollen rug. No car. Not much cash.
So get someone in to do it?
Buy a carpet cleaner?
Haul to dry cleaners?
Any other suggestions and yes I have scrubbed it in the past but a] am lazy cow and b] am not convinced it works well or is good for the rug.

See how it comes up after beating it and using a really good vacuum cleaner (borrow one if you can).

Is it a tufted pile or a flat weave?

Ask to borrow a cleaner on freecycle.

Tufted-loops really shortish pile. It has been hoovered with my miele.
Cleaner idea good although I am not convinced that anyone round here actually goes on to give you stuff! Well obviously some do.
