I can't throw shoes away

Sometimes Kelly is just mean [pout]

grouchyoscar · 20/01/2009 09:35

Saga I don't throw clothes away until they are unwearable. When you have no style you never end up looking dated.

Kelly lives in the American Beauty house and I bet the handle of here pruning shears matches her gardening clogs too As a result I don't think she lives in the real world (I won't say 'my world' as I don't think anyone else wants to be there ) Anyway, if you want to keep your shoes, you keep them.

Morning all!
Thanks for thread grouchy IV hope your dd is OK now
sag and grouchy agree about throwing stuff out!

Whoo hoo - discovered I already did todays mission in my organising yesterday YAY!
Did throw away some odd socks, and one pair of sandles I've had for years that had totally fallen apart!
Can't throw too much away though cause I don't have much and no money at the mo to replace, so doesn't matter whether I love it or not LOL

Done:
Morning routine
Dinner in slow cooker
Got petrol
kids to school
Clean washing away
Veggies steaming for DS2 lunch

To Do:
Mop floors... (still!)
Toddler story time 12.30
Tidy round
School pick up
Pick up older ones from auditions
Could do with baking at some point....

evening routine....

Really need to make myself go do the floors...LOL
Hope you all have good mornings!

Control diary has suggested I write 4 notes to various friends. I have cards I have stamps just need to do it. After hoovering.

Galen - AUDITIONS?

galen · 20/01/2009 10:53

Bianca - Hi! Hope things get better for you as day goes on.
swan Hi! You're doing well
Auditions not that exciting - for school Easter Production! Mind you it feels like they have only just finished the panto they were in at Christmas! Both the older ones love drama/shows etc... I love that they love it - but lots more ferrying round for me !

Anyway just coming on to post that I have FINALLY mopped downstairs floors! What is it with me and mopping? I always dread it and put it off, then when I do it I think " oh that wasn't so bad, didn't take so long"!

Right need to go sort DS 2 lunch for later and sort stuff for story time...

Morning.
lacking any motivation today! I WANT to get the house tidy before OP next week(If it isn't cancelled again!!).
My floor needs washing too. Dog keeps coming in with muddy feet!

swanriver · 20/01/2009 11:56

First letter to friend written slightly spoilt effect by having to ring her up for the address..

Is today a mopping day, have I missed something?

The bins, the bins!

Tortoise · 20/01/2009 12:03

lol Swan.
I was meant to wash my floors yesterday just because they are sooo grubby! Have just swept the floor. Will wash it in a mo.
I am freezing today! Local weather has just forecast a good chance of some snow. Believe it when i see it!

DS's PS2 has broken, don't suppose anyone is selling one?

Oh and i bought new batteries for my kitchen scales, put them in, turned it on and they still don't work! Battery low symbol is still flashing. Looks like i need new ones! Great!

Countingthegreyhairs · 20/01/2009 12:29

Hello everyone - thanks for posting about your ironing habits - as I suspected "as little as possible" is the way to go ... !!

Seriously though, I'm coming to the conclusion, like most things on Flylady, that it'll be best to ring-fence one or two days per week/or a bit of time every day to get it done. Quite appropriate really as day 20 of my baby-steps is about including laundry in the morning and evening routines ...

This "little and often" business is a huge change for me as (to take ironing as an example) I either go in to perfectionist mode and iron pants and socks and sheets or do nothing (and usually "doing nothing" wins)!!

Galen, Grouchy, Swan .. and everyone ...
I am seriously impressed by your lists ...one day I will reach the same altitude !!!

scattyspice · 20/01/2009 12:37

Counting - little and often is key I think . I tend towards once in a blue moon also.

Galen, Bianca, sag - i'm with you girls, if I throw out any shoes i will be barefoot .

Groucy - LOL at gardening clogs matching the handle of her tools . Is that where we're all heading?

To do
Laundry
Shops
sock mission
car tax
water plants
make a list
ds reading

grouchyoscar · 20/01/2009 12:38

Counting I rarely post lists from routines, just 'what I have got done' A 'what I have achieved' list makes me feel better than a huge 'what I've got to do' one, and makes me feel better on my 'can't do anything' days.

Get going and you'll be S&Sing all the way and keeping on top of it

Kitchen floor has been scrubbed. Going to go over it again in a min. I dried a patch off with kitchen roll and it came up brown! The water i tipped away was also very brown.

I chucked away some kids shoes yesterday. Old school shoes mainly! I don't have enough to chuck away of my own.

swanriver · 20/01/2009 12:57

Finally finished bedroom and dustballs.
And another letter/card.

Off for lunch and post/dryclean with dd.

I need to buy shoes not chuck. I have one pair of normal and 3 walking (for different terrains) and a pair of slippers. Does flylady think we are shopaholic imeldas?

Tortoise · 20/01/2009 13:11

2nd floor scrub done. Looks better now. My knees hurt though lol!

Swan I have 1 pair of trainers (bought recently), pair of DMs, slippers and one other pair of boots. oh and sandles and wellies!

ShannaraTiger · 20/01/2009 13:21

Afternoon

Done:
Morning routine
Toddler group meeting. Lots of coffee and chatting done, don't think we resolved the issues we were meeting for thouhg.

To do:
Get ds to have a nap, he keeps coughing though and waking himself up
Remember that I've hung some of the washing out!

grouchy ditto with throwing out clothes - only own one pair of boots, one pair of trainers, indoor shoes i.e. big hole in sole but ok for taking rubbish/ washin out. Also a couple of pairs of sandals.
swan have i missed something, what is a control diary and why writing letters?
Tort That's why I never brought electric kitchen scales. The battery in the bathroom ones I'd rather not replace, although the trousers are giving me the message loud and clear!
iv hope dd has cheered up.
sag I'm so impressed with the gym and excercise, I need a super size rocket. I'm definately going to buy Paul McKennas book to reprogram my brain to love excercise not lying on the sofa listening to Kerrang channel and falling asleep.
galen I'm exactly the same with mopping the floors, only takes me about 5 minutes but put it off for ages?

Now ds is in bed I'm going to go and do something FLY like.
Have a good afternoon everyone.
BBL

Tortoise · 20/01/2009 13:31

lol RR. Glad tooth feeling better.

swanriver · 20/01/2009 14:38

STiger, Control diary is something flyladyish. Letters are me trying to catch up and not flylady at all. Happy to clean and clean, but find it very difficult to write letters/do paperwork so have included it in fly lists.

Done
Food shopping
posted 2 letters

What's for dinner. fish
