Morning EHM, thanks for the thread.

TMH is stricktly today? Have a fabulous time .
Tort love the haircut. What colour are you going?
Hunny well done with the gym, I need to do something this weekend.

Tis family fun day! Dh has gone walking so I'm taking DC out to country park for bike ride and cafe .

Tomorrow dh is taking DC into town to buy me a birthday present . The best present is having the house to myself for a couple of hrs while they are out LOL.

Have fun today girls!

scattyspice · 17/01/2009 08:57

x posts wolf - phew busy day ahead for you.Hope your back improves!

dylsmum1998 · 17/01/2009 09:03

morning all.
am off to my mothers today (i'm trying to be enthusiastic, I'm just a wee bit tired as dd was up most of the night with her cough).
am also going to pick up a laptop from a store near her house for either ds or me. so that should take up some of the time we're there
we havent decided if it is for ds or me yet. ds has saved almost enough money for laptop for himself. i told him i would give him the rest of the money he needed as he has done so welll. ( he has raised over 2/3 of the money himself.) but the laptop we have found is better than mine and i want it
i have told him i will either by the laptop for myself and he can have my old one and keep all his money.
or we stick with the original plan of me topping up what he has saved.
he now cant decide so i told him decisionis needed before we get there.

before we go anywhere i need to do basic flying. so best get on

TMH your family day sounds so much better than mine. have fun

morning ehm and wolfcub

dylsmum1998 · 17/01/2009 09:04

hello scatty have a good day, when is your birthday?

galen · 17/01/2009 09:25

wolf hope your back is better soon
dylsmum hope your dd's cough is better soon, and have a good day at your mums
scatty totally agree the BEST b'day present EVER would be a couple of hours alone in the house - can't remember the last time that happened here LOL Hope they choose you a nice pressie!

everyonelse morning!

So have been up since 5.30 LOL and have done:
Brekkie, eaten , cleared
All up and dressed
Beds made
wm reloaded and on
Clean washing put away
bathrooms S&S
baked Dd4's b'day cake - cooling. Will ice and decorate later
ALL homework done ( thank heavens!)

Now need some inspiration of what to do with 6 kids all day! It's pouring here so have limited options - bum

Also bit of shopping later after DH gets home for last bits for DD's B'day....
Need to get dinner sorted too....
Oh and dig out swimming stuff for tomorrow...
Best get on... DS wants to use PC!

Morning all

Just dropping in before I go and collect the oldies.

I update you all later

cha cha cha - ooh look at her dress

Tortoise · 17/01/2009 09:54

morning all.

I have lots to do in the kitchen/table area. Suddenly noticed this morn just how awful it is in there. So will crack on with that in a mo.

DD's are doing messy arty stuff at the table though!

Morning EHM Thanks for thread.I have pretty much always had short hair.
Wolf Wow you have loads to do. Take it a bit easy. Hope your back improves.
Scatty Going to try going lighter, maybe even blondy colour! Nothing to dramatic though! Enjoy your time alone tomorrow.Hope they get you a nice pressie.
Dyls Hope you have a good day at your Mums. Well done to your DS for saving so much money himself. My DS's would love their own laptops! No chance of that.
Galen Hope you find something to entertain them all. Sun is out here at the moment. Was raining earlier this morning though so pretty wet out.

My duvet is in the WM. i striped it to wash the cover then the stupid dog came in with muddy feet and led on the duvet.

Keep fingers crossed i get the bed on Ebay later for DS2. he will be gutted if i don't! Have set a sniper bid at my highest so i don't bid more! lol! And also incase PC shuts down again.

Tortoise · 17/01/2009 09:54

Forgot to say TMH Have fun at strictly.

Tortoise · 17/01/2009 11:36

Well i am really glad i wasted my electric to wash the duvet! It still has muddy dog prints all over and it was washed on 60deg cycle.
Have hung it out in the sun! Duvet cover will cover the prints!!!

Bed on Ebay has 15mins. Is at £41 with 6 bids. I have a feeling this one is going to go to high for me.

Tortoise · 17/01/2009 11:51

WOOOOO HOOOOOO I won the bidding. £62. It is worth about £250 in Argos!

grouchyoscar · 17/01/2009 12:21

Afternoon Ladies

Didn't get up til 10 I was catching up on a bad night's sleep. So far I have

Made the beds
Drawn the curtains
Loaded and run DW
Loaded and run TD
De-fluffed TD door filter
Made my cleaning spray
Cleaned the inside of the kitchen window

TO DO

Hunt the missing library book Last seen Ed's bedroom
Go through stack of CD roms
Do homework with Ed

I'm generally taking it very easy today. I had to use my walking stick yesterday so I over did it a bit

TMH enjoy Strictly.

Wolfcub · 17/01/2009 12:30

afternoon all

Dp has just walked across my freshly washed floor before it has dried GDR

grouchy what's in your cleaning spray and what do you use it for

Ds fed
Showered and dressed
Bed made
House blessed
Round 8 of insurance company wars looks like I might finally get my laptop next week woohoo about time to

Bbl

grouchyoscar · 17/01/2009 12:38

Wolf My spray is very influenced by Kim and Aggie It's

1 part distilled vinegar
4 parts water
juice of 2 lemons

I use it to clean all surfaces, wash windows and mirrors, wipe out the fridge etc etc.

1/2 a litre lasts about 10 days and it just keeps the place ship shape really

hope your back is on the mend

scattyspice · 17/01/2009 13:12

Hi all.

Back from country park. Lovely sunny day .DS needed lots of persuasion to ride his bike, he hasn't been on it since a nasty fall in Oct. Couldn't persuade DD to walk much though, she was born with a club foot so balance isn't great but she needs to walk more to improve it .

Hopefully DC will play this afternoon and I can do the ironing.

wendythepositivethinker · 17/01/2009 15:49

Hello everyone, just spent ages reading last few days threads

You are all really busy bees - putting me to shame! I have the lurgy, a head cold but feel very rough. managed library, bit of shopping, made a sugar free dundee cake which is in the oven. Dh has cleaned bathroom! I have marked it on the calendar !

Looking forward to hearing about Strictly, I am off on the 31st! Love the hair cut tort
at you Wolf taking dp's coat to dry cleaner but not your own suit that sums us all up!

Wolfcub · 17/01/2009 16:01

afternoon all grouchy I'm going to get an empty bottle and give that a try

Just put a heat pad on my back and am waiting for it to warm up

Done s&s bathroom
Picked up blind
Went to tesco
Posted letter
Went to dry cleaners to pick up dps coat but they were shut
Got lamb out of freezer for tomorrow
Just going to pick toys up of the floor as ds is having a rare nap

wendythepositivethinker · 17/01/2009 16:28

just had a rant at dc for not playing with any of their toys. They seem to just be always whingeing at me to entertain them when they have thousands of toys to play with! Some of the xmas ones are untouched . It makes me feel very ashamed with all the children who have nothing. How do any of you get round this problem of rotating toys? I've tried putting in garage but never seem to get round to it.

Grouchy might get vinegar and try that too

I am freezing and feeling very ill and rubbishy, just put potatoes in oven for tea, easy option!

grouchyoscar · 17/01/2009 17:03

Hello again

Had a really lovely suprise this afternoon. A close friend who left the area about 7 years ago turned up on the doorstep with his 2 DSs. It was great to see him again and wonderful that he seems to be sorting his life out once and for all. And The DSs have turned from kids into 2 fine young men. Ed loved showing his Lego and Wii skills off. I loved showing Ed off and...it was just so nice Glad I got dressed this morning rather than having a scuzzy PJ day

I've

Vacced the front room
Sorted out the CD roms
Unloaded DW
Put away
Made Tea for me and Ed

Click Clack Moo is still AWOL The search will continue tomorrow

scattyspice · 17/01/2009 17:49

Grouchy what a nice surprise!
wolf hope the hotbottle is helping
wendy I have been threatening to send DS toys to the 'poor children'! Actually I think he's starting to grow out of alot of his toys . I find with DD, if I get something out for her to play with and set it up (train track, farm, tea set etc) she will play quite well, but she's hopeless at just getting something out for herself (tsk).

Done:
run
1/2 ironing
laundry
DS reading
wash up

Tortoise · 17/01/2009 18:14

Wendy Hope you feel better soon. Hot bath and early night maybe.
GO What a lovely surprise for you.

I have taken DS's beds apart. they will have to sleep on their mattress on the floor.
Don't know when my friend is picking the beds up. She was hoping to get one this afternoon and one tomorrow. Feel like i have asked to much of her getting 2 in one weekend. She said it was fine though and i asked before i did any bidding.

The bed for DS2 is the same as this!

Hows the weather with every one? Blowing a gale here but no rain yet.

swanriver · 17/01/2009 18:15

Today has been a bit off-piste, and dcs are now showing the strain. What should have been a nice relaxing day taking ds1 to his party missing various classes etc has ended up with very cross kids overdosed on travel (twins) and fizzy drinks (ds1) so no-one could go swimming this pm which is usually routine.
Next Sat we will revert to STRUCTURE, and quiet time after lunch ... Dh is suffering from getting up too early this am with ds2 at 6.00 and not being able to read his newspaper without interruption.

You all sound like you had a lovely day tho, except Wendy and you were feeling ill.

HOWEVER DONE
Made ds1 draw handmade card for ds's friend's party (no birthday card in house)
Bought some more presents for present drawer to avoid last minute scrambling.
Vp for ds1 5 mins
Made our bed first thing!
Swept floor
Kept calm when ds2 had tantrum
Tea made for dcs when they stop watching Total Wipeout

Have a good evening everyone, and hope TMH, that you had a gorgeous time.

swanriver · 17/01/2009 18:18

Tortoise, that is a fine bed!

Tortoise · 17/01/2009 18:26

Yes it is . And a bargain at £62! description says only used weekends.
