Waxed wooden floors - keeping them looking good?

Hello, I've just had a waxed oak floor laid throughout the downstairs of my house. Just wondering what cleaning routines, products and tips people have for me for keeping it clean. We had rotten old carpet before!

Many thanks - even if your tips and hints sound obvious, please post - they are welcome. I like to start from the basics :-)

I moved into a house with a waxed wooden floor

It is quite easy to maintain I redo it once a year and buff over scratches every now and then.

Do you just brush and hoover it - or mop it?

i hoover and mop it with a damp mop

Thanks. I just wondered whether wetting the floor made the waxy surface look odd. I was wondering whether we should have gone for lacquered but it's too late now!

damp mop only - can end up looking patchy if you walk over it before it is fully dry.
