Ocado, anyone use them?

They have just started delivering in my area and sent me a voucher. Are they any good? I normally use tesco. Are they actually a supermarket?

Ocado is the company that has the contract to deliver Waitrose food.
They're pretty good, IME.

They are brilliant...much, much better than Tesco. I use Sainsbo's normally but sometimes use Ocado as the quality is so much better. Too expensive for every week though.

Are they much more expensive because i just looked on there and seem quite reasonable!

They're really good. I've never had a problem finding everything we need on there. Do think they're more expensive than others though but they're getting more competitive lately.

The other really good thing about Ocado is that I don't think I've ever had a product not turn up (ie. substituted) - unfortunately that happened a lot when I shopped online with Sainsburys.

I love them (although I am currently doing lots of Lidl shops throughout January!) and we have always had really lovely delivery men who chat to the children! The service is excellent.

I've used them most weeks since ds2 was born (11 months ago). Haven't tried any of the others for comparison.

Products are good, customer service is pretty good (lots of freebies, helpful on phone if there's a problem, always admire and chat to the dcs etc).

I probably get one substitution a week - usually on wine. No obligation to take it though.

The only niggle I have with them is the time-keeping. They almost always come late (30 mins after the time slot is the norm), but we are a bit off the beaten track and sat-nav doesn't work properly here.

they are fantastic. great service, excellent time keeping, the delivery men (and women) are lovely, the website is great and very well designed, and most importantly the never "cheat", ie vegetables are always great, milk is always fresh (no next day expiry type stuff and baskets of dodgy strawberries).

Loving Ocado. They deliver Waitrose goods, so no Tesco value rock bottom cheapness, but it all comes from a warehouse rather than the store, so if it's not in stock you can't order it. Hence no randon substitutions. Always on time (often early!), don't use too many bags, very friendly delivery staff.

We do a weekly Ocado shop and then a massive monthly Aldi/Lidl run for mountains of fruit juice/chocolate/bleach etc. and our bills have actually gone down from when we were using Sainsbo's for everything.

Also, nearly forgot - they text a few hours before your delivery saying what colour the van will be, the name of the driver and whether you have any missing items!! And they send a free paper - last week it was the Times, so I got to participate in the Julia Frogspawn MN debate - thank you Ocado.

Yes, fresh products always have a long 'use by' date, usually longer than it would be in store.

They are the best. And they are price matching a lot now. Tesco and sains are crap ime.

I second how good they are - and if ever any mishaps (split yoghurts, something not lasting til it's use-by date etc) they have always refunded no quibbles.

Of course they sell yoghurts without "bits". Several types!

The service from Ocado is far better than Tesco and Sainsbury's. I very rarely get substitutions from Ocado whereas I do from the others. They are also very good at time keeping and offer to bring the shopping into your kitchen if you've got young children. The products are good but the range is not as good as other supermarkets so I tend to shop elsewhere from time to time to stock up the cupboards.

Yes, weekly and they're fantastic for all of the above reasons. I've tried Sainsbury's and Tescos too and have always gone back to Ocado. Found both other services consistently disappointing (bags packed badly, items substituted with entirely inappropriate replacements and short sell by/ use by dates).
