All old white baby linen/towels a bit grey, how to whiten them

Got round to digging out all the baby blankets and towels etc from when ds was a baby and they look a bit grey. So in true nesting style I feel the need to bleach them or something but instinct says thats prop not good to do blankets which will go next to baby's skin. Anything else I can do to preserve their former glory?

I saw something in the shop this week, with the washing powders, for livening up whites. Could well be a bit bleachy though.

Napisan has optical whiteners as I remember, give that a go?

hang them out in the sun after washing

this is a bit hard this time of year!

Fairy Snow?
60 or even 90 degree boil wash and prewash? (might shrink a bit)
Bleach and then put through a thorough wash with no soap powder in the machine?

Cheers, its the sun I lack all year round living in a flat. Maybe thats where I've been going wrong all this time! Bought Dr Somebody or other's GloWhite and used that but not impressed!
Thanks for getting back to me everyone!

Try some Milton Sterilising fluid. Just add a bit into the tray thing where you put the fabric conditioner.
