I have a hotpoint wm. I am not imagining it - it is happening to too many clothes. What do you think may be wrong with it? It is only 2 years old. Thanks

Anything sharp in the drum?

Using bio detergent on fabrics containing wool?

sunshinejune · 08/01/2009 16:24

don't think so - like what?

Use bio on everything but these are not just wool items things like DH T shirts and my sons tops and a cardigan.

We had that - then the holes started to get a bit bigger (like they'd been chewed by a rat). Then one day there was an almighty bang and when we opened the washer there was a HUGE tear in the drum!

only on cheap t-shirts - had my not-so-cheap Zanussi for over 6 years and it's fabulous!! Just crappy material IME

ha ha. Not really his t shirts are designer ones - hence £40+ and he is not happy about it!

Perennial problem discussed on previous threads. This article may be of help. I have had similar problems with small holes in tee shirts in particular.

Its watermice - I tell you - its a plague spreading around the country. Yet nobody listens to me, nobody does anything about it. They'll be sorry when they have holes in their undies at Number 10.......

My machine tends to eat holes in DH's boxers. That or we have very brave moths. It did once shred a sweater of mine, but as it wasn't the best shade for me, I took it as constructive criticism.
