Curtains - where can I buy some heavy full length ones that won't cost the earth?

I need some new curtains to 'block off' the door between the sitting room and the conservatory as we are losing lots of heat through it. They will only be up in the winter, if that helps.

Everything online seems huuugely expensive.

Best bet is to go to a shop and find something ex-display. A lot of the display sizes are very long because of the way they're hung in the shop. We got a Laura Ashley pair last year which were less than half the original price.

Ikea curtains are all really long - you can trim them if they are too long. I got a pair last year which look like grey silk from a distance - they were around £30 I think.

Thank you both - good ideas!
