Please can someone suggest where I can get a larger style range cooker other then currys, comet and john lewis? Are there any particular brands I can source myself? Does anyone have one of these they particularly recommend?

My m in law keeps saying I must get one that is not split into 3/4 sections (as sometimes they are too small to fit what you want to cook in) but 1-2 doors which is a 1 1/2 oven - anyone got any thoughts on this?

Thanks

I've been doing lots of research into range cookers as I'm having a new kitchen put in in the New Year. A lot depends on your budget. At the lower end of the price range, Stoves has been recommended. My friend has a Rangemaster and has been pleased with it. I have considered Falcon and Lacanche, but think I will probably go for a Britannia. Britannia has been recommended to me by my local independentkitchen showroom and by JL.

I have a gorgeous cream Canon range cooker. They come in either dual fuel or all gas (which is what I went for) and in anthracite as well as cream. I got it online from Boots Kitchen Appliances - very competitive prices & great customer service. I am really pleased with it, have had it a year now - was fantastic for Christmas dinner!

It has 2 full sized ovens, one is fan-assisted, no probs fitting anything in either oven that didnt go in my old standard cooker. Also has a large grill & a warming compartment, a good assortment of ring sizes, a wok burner and it came with a griddle.

Definitely worth researching online shops imo, thats what I did for a complete set of kitchen appliances last year - got some great items at good prices. Also worth looking at Tesco Direct - I got a fridge & freezer & £35 worth of clubcard points!!
