I noticed today that my bathroom blind has got a bit mouldy - tried to clean it - not much success. What could I use?

Is it vinyl or fabric?

Concepta · 30/12/2008 19:26

fabric.

roller blind?

I'd get a new one tbh, or new material

if if pulls LOOOONG and there's spare fabric, you could ask a blind shop to 'take it up' and chop off the mouldy fabric - I did this last year

you could do it yourself if you can work out the mechanism but I buggered up mine trying to do this - they use a special machine to finish mine off properly!

I would sling it and get a new one TBH.

Yes it is a roller blind. Morning Paper that is a good idea. It is long and there is plenty to spare and it's only a bit at the bottom that has got mouldy. I think I will do that. Don't have any spare cash to invest in another one at the moment.

Are the vinyl ones any easier to clean. When I do decide to change - I would be better get one that I can clean.

You can get ones in John Lewis for about £45 that are mould resistant. We have one in our bedroom and it really works.

vinyl ones are no different IMO

a mould-resist one might be good if you don't have people who are allergic to any sort of fungicide
