Well I have just got back from A&E and mummys know best - he has broke his collar bone, so we are back for the fracture clinic on Monday, as it is a raised fracture.

AnneOfAvonlea · 28/12/2008 08:59

Aw Mad. Hope the pain goes for him soon

wendycarolsinger · 28/12/2008 09:43

Oh no! Did they get it wrong first time, then, Mad ? Like you say you know your own child's reaction to pain. Thinking of you lots.

I've had a great Christmas. Lovely time on Xmas Day, all went smoothly except for burning the red cabbage (DH's fault! ) but noone missed it there was plenty of everything else. DC got good presents (except my mum and dad, as usual, there was 6 sacks of presents and all were stuff less than a couple of quid, some of it rubbish. I mean, honestly, she wrapped up a toothbrush each!) But they love their presents from us and DH's side who buy mainly one main present and just a couple of extras.

Boxing Day I visited my Grandma, who is 82 and not so great. Then lunch at DH's parents and also tea! Fab. Yesterday we spent at home then my parents' for tea, which was lovely too.

Today we are off swimming then having Dh's parents round for play and tea - cooking a new recipe Sweet red onion and cheese tart - looking forward to making it later.

as tmh sorry about ds, goes to show that you can't beat a mothers instinct. Hopefully you can keep him fairly comfortable until tomorrow.

I have a stinking hangover dp is laughing at me but in my defence I haven't really had the chance to sleep it off yet.

The house looked great yesterday evening, so long as you a youstayed downstaiRs. The aim for today is to make it look that good again by tidying up the mess we made last night. Dinner was nice though.

Poor you Mad and poor ds1, and Tortoise I hope you are feeling alright today. Hello everybody, I have flu, well I had it very badly yesterday and was dismissed to bed, and today am feeling a bit shakey but much better. Children all STILL ILL, and getting a bit fed up with being stuck indoors. Dd demanded to go for a walk with dh to Morrisons and then semi-collapsed on way home, but at least she got some fresh air.
We cancelled our party, which was a relief, and I got to chat with all the friends while cancelling!! Back to bed now, before dh finds I on computer

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 28/12/2008 20:52

Welcome back Rubes you missed mouldie madness

Swan Sorry to hear you have the dreaded lurgy now as well as the children. Hope you feel better tomorrow

Tort Did the cooker come?

Wendy I miss heard DH, thought they x-rayed it first time round (it was 4 in the morning), but they didnt. it is a displaced fracture, so hoping it has aligned in the morning.

I also need to ask for stronger painkillers or a sedative, as he just can not stay asleep. He moves and screams in agony. We are using a V pillow and it does help a little. He is so tired, but in remarkable good humour inspite of the pain.

We have been and bought some shirts for him today from the next sale (he can not get anything on over his head). He is a bloody nightmare to buy for - very picky , but we also picked up an iron and ironing board for DS2 who it very pleased with it.

Wolfcub · 28/12/2008 21:13

tmh have you got any medised? It might help ds to get some sleep until you can get something better from the hospital tomorrow. Have the hospital imobilised the arm for him? If you have a triangular bandage an elevation sling might just make him more comfortable. I hope you have a better night tonight

Cheers Wolfcub I did the bandage sling thing - just didnt know the name for it for during the day today, although getting him to keep it on is a nightmare. Medised doesnt work for us - sends him hyper. I did a peadiatric first aid course after he was born and dug out my book earlier to remind me how to do it - he he he

Anyway he is asleep and has only woke once up to now.

Washer and dryer are on
DW is empty
House is looking OK

Had to change our bed though, as DS1 spilt his drink on it just before going to bed.
