I have hinted for years that I would like a FOOD PROCESSOR. If I don't get one for Xmas this year I am going to buy myself the bloody thing. Any suggestions?

I was eyeing a Kenwood one in Comet - half price at £35 with a juicer/liquidiser jug thingy

He has just gone shopping again after 4 hours yesterday. He asked my friend for advice yesterday so hopefully he will get something now.

Ok. Will look at Kenwoods.

My mum has one with juicer and all sorts of attachments. Are they standard?

defo - a magimix. expensive but worth it.
mine is still going strong 13 years later; my friend has had about 3 in the same time but none have been magimix and they have all died!

Magimix - no contest. Expensive but worth every penny and will be going strong for years. I had a kenwood thing and it was never any good - not powerful enough

Clayhead · 23/12/2008 08:53

I have a Magimix style one but it it John Lewis' own brand.

Definitely go for a really expensive, heavy one as they are the ones which deal with anything and last for ages.

Would recommend Kenwood Chefs for mixers though - equally solid.

MmeHereWeGoAWassailLindt · 23/12/2008 09:02

Hmm, the magimix ones are a good bit more expensive.

I don't know how often I would use it. More for cooking than for baking as I don't bake that often.

Do you have the Duo one?

I was considering this as mine has died and i cant afford a magimix

i thought a small bowl atttachment would be useful as i could never chop herbs and garlic in mine before

nannyL · 23/12/2008 22:39

magimix are amazing and do seem to last forever

have had a magimix in all my jobs, and have decided it will be added to my interview questions.... do you have a magimix as i NEED one and use it ALL the time in my cooking for the children at work!
