To stop your plastic food containers turning organge after storing tomatoey food in it, wipe the inside with a little veg oil before puting the food in and it stops the food colouring the plastic.

You smart folks probably already know this but I though I'd like to share it...

Yes I am impressed georgiemum.

Unfortunatly it's too late for me as all my tupperware is already orange from those tomatoey foods in that you mentioned. But if I ever buy new ones I'll remember your tip.

I have an unhealthy attachment to my tupperware. When they brought out the ones with the clippy bits (the clips have to be on the lids not the other way round) I was almost overcome with excitement. Just talking about it I think I may need a trip to lakeland

Oh and great tip.

My sister's MIL (furrin) told her dh that my sister was not a good wife as she didn't have a wide enough selection of Tupperware style stuff.

V good tip but it's a bugger getting owt oily off Tupperware anyway.

I have an unhealthy obsession with it too. It is genetic as my mum and sister were/are the same.
