huge lucozade stain on carpet -HELP!!!!

We've just uncovered a HUGE stain on our carpet. DD had it covered with her mat. It's lucozade. It's been there ages. We had hired a carpet cleaner machine today anyway, but it has hardly touched it. What can we do? It's bright orange on a light coloured carpet.

Anyone?

Sorry, I don't reckon you'll shift it. I tried absolutely everything to remove a lucozade stain off a really nice rug, and I couldn't even dull the shade of orange. I know it sounds negative, but I think it's here to stay

I'll try to make friends with it then. Perhaps it won't like me and go away by itself...

If the carpet cleaning machine hasn't worked, you could try a carpet shampoo - Which? hasn't tested them since Feb 2006, but back then we found that Bissell Wash & Protect for Carpets & Upholstery came out best - I had a quick check online and it still exists, and they have their own website where you can buy products online. Hope it works!
