There is crap everywhere you look, on every surface. My friend is coming to visit this evening and I need to get it looking halfway decent. I need to move stuff to other rooms, but they are just as minging. The kitchen is done but the front room and kitchen are all one room. I have to do the bathroom but then what?

I hate being rubbish at housework.

Concentrate on the areas she is likely to go into, close every other door. Put piles of ironing/post/bills etc in a bedroom and shut door.

Do bathroom, do kitchen, hoover lounge, dust lounge. Light nice smelling candle about an hour before she comes and leave to burn. Sorted.

Flylady crisis cleaning needed here.

Start with the kitchen sink. 15 minutes.

15 mins in the living room picking things up off the floor/coffee tables, newspapers etc. HAve two bags with you a rubbish bag and a belongs somewhere else bag.

Then if back to the kitchen 15 minutes clearing worktops

Break and a cup of tea

15 minutes wiping down bathroom sink, toilet and pick up towels/dirty washing

anothre 15 mins cleaning kitchen

15 mins putting more things away in living room.

Brilliant advice. I did get off MN and in that time, have cleaned the bathroom, just got the floor to do. I'm now going to make myself a cup of tea and do the living room as well as the bathroom floor obv.

DS has just woken for his lunch so that is likely to take a bit of time.

Thanks so far, the kick up the bum I needed!
