I need some tips. I've been very lazy this week and have been on Mumsnet instead or just navel gazing. I've got tons to do this weekend. Last night I should have made a casserole, Ds's star costume emptied dishwasher and emptied dryer and put more in the wash I've done nothing. Would love some tips that doesn't include mumsnet (sorry)

invite people round, that always makes me clean the house

I set a timer for 20 minutes and do as much as possible in that time. I play a little game with myself where I pretend someone has just called to say they will be here after 10, 20, 0 minutes and need to make the house presentable for them

After my timer goes off, I finish the job I am doing, then reward myself with a cuppa and 10 minutes computer time, then repeat.

I tend the clean the kitchen whilst the kids are having their dinner cos they take an age to eat!

starbear im the same at the minute, i just cnt seem to keep myself in a routine, i do a whole day of cleaning but then the next day im not interested and it all just builds up again. its really getting me down at the minute.

Thanks so far, I do invite friends around but they are so nice they don't care!!Invite friends around only helps with the cooking. It's the laundry and other chores that can be stuffed in a cupboard that I avoid.
Breaghsmum I think it's the time of year. I just want to say warm and cosy and not work. With all the doors closed, no sunlight various rooms in my house are not as inviting as the one with the computer or T.V.
We are talking about putting a TV into the kitchen I was dead against for Ds but, I might get some chores done with the company of some chat show in the background. [

One thing I have just got in the habit of doing is while DD is in the bath, I clean the bathroom and sort out a load of washing to put on. She is only 1 so needs supervising in the bath ALL The time, but prefers to get on with it herself and it is her fave time of the day and will happily play with her toys etc in there. So although I can't move out of sight of the bath, I am still getting some stuff done. And she has bath books so I read her a bedtime story in there too.

Once DD goes to bed, I throw all her toys from the foor in the toy box and if needed, I will hoover, but don't do it when it isn't really needed.

Sorry not much help (I am rubbish as well) but every little helps!

it must be this time of year, you just want to snuggle on the sofa with jumkfood and the remote. doesnt help that i have pregnancy hormones tearing me in all directions but the right one!!! i do the bathtime thing aswell chloe, my son is 3.5 but i still stay within sight of the bathroom so i use that time to fold and put washing away upstairs. infact, my upstairs is fine, DS knows where all his toys 'live' and knows to put them away before he comes away to do anything else and my room has no clutter so it really is simple to do but i find the living room and kitchen are the ones that need most time spent cleaning. it should be simple really if i did a bit everyday but is just actually being bothered to do that little bit everyday. i know im lazy, i just need to lift myself out of it and get sorted.

After I turned this thing off. I did do something, I emptied the dishwasher, put another lot in and made three meals, tonight's with left over chicken, not great but hey! Beef casserole, and pumpkin soap. Now cutting out the star for Ds's costume. More laundry to be done but I'll do that in the morning
