They did the gingerbread with the melted boiled sweet in it on This Morning this morning but I can't find it on teh web site - may be you may have more luck.

Thanks Seeline. What is the melted boiled sweet supposed to do? Help preserve it or something?

Totally fail safe, kid friendly, forgiving recipe:
6oz flour
4oz butter
2 ox sugar.

Mix, knead then cut and bake for about 20 mins.
Did not see This Morning, but in a childrens activity book, I saw a similar idea for sweets. Basically, make biscuits, then cut a hole in the middle, slightly larger than boiled sweet. Bake for about 5 mins, take out, drop a sweet in the hole, return to over and bake again. I think the biscuit recipe was a bit more complex using brown sugar and all spice, a bit less butter and half an egg, but you could always experiment!

You've inspired me to give them a try now!
